Asphalt Rolled Asphalt and BUR Built Up Bitumen Roofs

CanAM roof coatings are specially formulated according to the roofing surface whether it be a typical Rolled Asphalt BUR or Built up Bitumen roofing. CanAM uses systems and products to prepare the roof before being coated with our Elastomeric Roof Coatings.

 

This is an example of BUR or Built up Bitumen asphalt roof with severe ponding water caused by poor drainage. In a case such as this CanAM would make the appropriate repairs and add drainage as required to prevent large areas of ponding or pooling water.

 

Example of a severe ponding or pooling water on an BUR Built up or Rolled Asphalt roof.	The roofing system is pumped off and cleaned, then repairs are made to the Asphalt roofing system.
Old sheet metal was removed and seams in remaining plywood were sealed before being coated.	Ridges and blisters are located, roof is repaired and tied into existing roof before coating.
When roof repairs are completed to the asphalt or built up roof the first coat of elastomeric roof coating is applied.	Once the roof coating primer is completed the parapet walls are ready for ealstomeric coating.
The Asphalt or BUR Built up roof surface is now water tight again.
