Residential Asphalt Roofs

Many home additions and garages are rolled asphalt. This type of roof is very susceptible to the extreme stress caused by heat during hot summer months. An asphalt roof can reach temperatures as high as 170 degrees causing the asphalt to eventually blister and break down. Once blistered and cracked water can enter as ice in the winter months and cause further damage and leaking.

CanAM's elastomeric coatings are very well suited to this roofing style and this type of roof once coated with a CanAM elastomeric product as seen below will no longer suffer these harsh temperature swings and will last many more years before further repairs are necessary.

This Asphalt roof was leaking severely into the garage below causing tenants and landlord untold grief. Ponding and heat stress has caused the roof to blister badluy and cause leaks
Once the roof is cleaned other issue are found including open holes which have allowed water under the asphalt. Once the roof is cleaned and dried off repairs can begin which included repairs to all holes ridges and blisters.
Once repaired the roof is coated with a base coat primer. Once the primer has cured the white top coat of elastomeric is applied and the project is completed.
